Realistic Thoughts On Acquiring Sturdy Riding Clothes Wear
When you first enter the world of equestrianism, you often pay all of your attention to the horse and understandably want to make sure that the animal is well cared for, is well presented and looks spectacular. Sooner or later you need to get around to thinking about the equestrian clothing that you will need, as this is a whole new area of consideration for you, prior to your first experience or event. You cannot just mount and go riding and expect to be comfortable, as well as being able to perform in a specific style of event. Comfort and protection are paramount considerations and your riding clothes wear should be selected with your ultimate outcome in mind.
When aiming for more formal events, you will need to consider more formal attire, sometimes also known as English style clothing, when you will select your riding pants or trousers, your breeches or jodhpurs. The jodhpurs are the more formal of the products and the legs on these items are full-length and designed to be used with low riding boots. Breeches, on the other hand, end midway down the lower leg and are designed to be used with taller boots.
It is important to select your boots carefully, in order to make sure that your foot is always in contact with the stirrup and that the lower leg is protected when it comes into contact with the saddle, for example. Riding chaps give you an additional layer of protection and can come in either half or full length. There is a lot of activity when you are riding and the lower part of your body, especially your legs, often comes into contact with the saddle and the horse; if you don’t have adequate protection, your clothing can wear out quickly and you can suffer discomfort or even injury.
Of all the items of equestrian clothing, your helmet is probably the most important. Do not even think about getting onto a horse unless you are wearing one and make sure that it is well constructed, fits well and feels comfortable. The last thing you want to do is to test out how well your helmet works in an accident!
When you are taking part in competition, appearance is everything. Always make sure that both you and your horse are presented well and that you are keeping up with the latest fashions when it comes to riding clothes wear. You should familiarise yourself with various rules and regulations when it comes to dress codes for certain types of competition, but even without the dress code, you really must dress with style and authenticity and simply look the part.
All else being equal and in the ultimate analysis, what you choose to buy for your equestrian supplies and clothing will often make the difference between winning and coming second in a given competition. You might say that you don’t intend to take part in any competitions, but you nevertheless need to be well presented and prepared if you’re going to enjoy horse riding activities at any level. A lot of experience in testing has gone into the construction of equestrian equipment and clothing by people who came before you. Pay heed to this knowledge and experience and buy products that have been well-designed for the job that you have in mind.
