History of Fashion, A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own

The history of fashion takes us into a time warp. It’s art in its purest form. It is all about style. The way a designer puts into form fabric and colors to make an outfit has always been greatly watched by many. Designer clothing makes its way into films and magazines now and is the high talk of many magazines.

Let’s explore two different types of fashion, high fashion and good fashion. You can make your own designs with a dress making pattern. High fashion is the clothing with the high price tag that is usually found wore on the red carpet in Hollywood. Good fashion is your practical and everyday design that you would wear to most of your special occasions.

Fashion style for women’s clothing goes from something that hugs the body to loose fitting clothing with something tied around it. Zippers can go up the back or right down the side. Jeans have designs on them or they can be plain. Suits can be tailored to fit the body to those that drape the body.

Throughout time there have been certain fashion styles that stick out. Some pants are tight fitting around the ankle or you have bell bottoms. The designs on the fabric and all the different colors all make up a certain style. Clothing that was in the in 60s could come back now in the 21st century. Many people like to start new trends, while certain styles are best to remain in there former time period.

You can get a good idea of fashion by looking at different magazines. These tell you what is current in style and what is out. Many times people go to museums to get some ideas.

What are other people wearing? You can see the trends in various fashion magazines or hop online to see what the current trends are. The subject matter of what is in style is always a hot topic. Ads can be a great place to spot the trends of certain styles too.

When you look at an outfit that strikes you, ask yourself how you would change the design. What would you ad to it? What would you take away? You can buy a sewing machine and redesign clothing to make it into something new. Put a hood on a jacket or a design on the back of a shirt.

There are some many different places you can get fashion ideas from. Is it raining outside or snowing? This can give you ideas. Ideas can come from watching children play in the park, or music that you hear over the radio that stirs up your creative side. You can always find style in the basic time frame we live in. Things change over time. Certain pieces come back and others are gone forever. That is my take on the history of fashion.
